Peaceable Kingdom Mirror
The Peaceable kingdom is inspired by the prophet Isaiah who visions a time when the wild and domesticated animals will reside peacefully with one another and will be led by a child. The Lamb will lay down with the wolf, and the lion with the fattling and the tiger with the goat. The motif was made famous by the 19th century painter and Quaker minister Edward Hicks. Who painted as many as a hundred versions. Carol Canner was inspired by the timely theme and has created this design integrated into a mirror format in a sculpted bar relief. It is Shown here hand painted with a gold leaf twig surround, also available hand painted and a painted twig surround or in an all bronze finish.
